Yesterday was great. We spent the day jamming, practicing and writing and the night running around the city. While in downtown Raleigh we almost stormed the state house with a bunch of protestors. We weren’t too sure what they were saying, but we really wanted to cause some sort of ruckus. We made it to the door of the state house before we decide maybe it wasn’t a good idea. The next hour or so was spent walking the city, eventually ending up in my favorite part of it, this neat district by the park with narrow, stone streets. After that we found our dinner at this chinese place. It was real sketchy on Hillsborough St. and the hyperactive owner kinda freaked me out, he was hilarious. While we were waiting for our food we were halfway watching the news on a TV in the restaurant. We saw that 49 protestors had been arrested downtown. Needless to say, I was glad there weren’t 52, getting arrested isn’t in my agenda for this tour. I’d love to get arrested for civil disobedience later on in my life, protesting something I feel strongly about. But, when I don’t know what the cause is, and I’m on tour, I’d like to stay far from being arrested. That was a good call on Kevo’s part, I’m glad he decided to come along on this tour.
